arlo-guthrie-bob-nocek-presents

When legendary folk music icon Arlo Guthrie took to the road to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of his seminal song “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree,” he was incredibly moved by the feedback from enthusiastic fans.

His forthcoming tour, Alice’s Restaurant -- Back By Popular Demand, will coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the feature film “Alice’s Restaurant,” originally released in 1969, starring Arlo as himself, directed by famed director Arthur Penn, who was nominated for a Best Director Academy Award.

Guthrie will be joined by his son Abe as well as longtime collaborators Terry “A La Berry” Hall (drums), Steve Ide (guitar, vocals) and Carol Ide (vocals, percussion) of his former acclaimed band Shenandoah. Arlo’s daughter Sarah Lee Guthrie, a lauded singer-songwriter in her own right, will open the shows.

In July 2017 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the “Summer of Love” and the original release of Arlo’s debut album, Rhino Records re-released the full mono version of the album Alice’s Restaurant on 180 gram vinyl. In March 2018, the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress inducted "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" into the registry honoring the recording for its cultural, historic and aesthetic importance to the American soundscape.

Brian Wilson presents Pet Sounds: The Final Performances with special guests Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin

In 1965, with The Beach Boys out on tour, Brian Wilson began session work on some of the most deeply personal recordings of his career. Inspired by The Beatles Rubber Soul, he challenged himself to create an immaculate musical masterpiece. A vast departure from the then band’s commercial sound, the resulting Pet Sounds “concept album” achieved great critical success helping usher in a new musical landscape. Now Wilson and his band, joined by former bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin, continue their sold-out, critically-acclaimed tour that includes a live performance of Pet Sounds in its entirety along with top hits and fan favorites.

Art Garfunkel

TICKETS ON SALE
Monday, October 30 at 10AM

Blessed with what the New York Times described as a “beautiful countertenor,” singer Art Garfunkel has made an indelible mark on the music world as both a solo artist and half of the unrivaled Simon & Garfunkel.  He has also enjoyed a successful film career, published a book of poetry and released 12 solo albums, the most recent being SOME ENCHANTED EVENING in 2007.

Since then, he has been busy as a husband and father to his two sons, 26 year-old James and 11-year-old Beau Daniel.  He is also an avid walker who has walked across Japan, the US (celebrated in the 1997 concert DVD ACROSS AMERICA) and now Europe.

Garfunkel was originally revered for his Grammy-winning, chart-topping songs and albums with partner and fellow NYC native Paul Simon.  Their greatest hits collection, which includes “Mrs. Robinson,” “Scarborough Fair,” “The Sound Of Silence,” “The Boxer” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” among others, is one of the biggest selling album ever.

After Simon & Garfunkel parted ways in 1970, GARFUNKEL landed several major film roles, including “Carnal Knowledge” (opposite Jack Nicholson), “Catch 22” and Nicholas Roeg’s “Bad Timing/A Sensual Obsession.”  His solo debut ANGEL CLARE spawned the top 10 hit “All I Know.”  His other solo albums include BREAKAWAY (‘75; features the hit “I Only Have Eyes For You”), WATERMARK (‘78; featuring “[What A] Wonderful World” with James Taylor and Paul Simon), FATE FOR BREAKFAST (‘79), SCISSORS CUT (‘81), THE ANIMALS’ CHRISTMAS (‘86), LEFTY (‘88), GARFUNKEL (greatest hits, ‘88), UP TILL NOW (‘93), ACROSS AMERICA (‘97), SONGS FROM A PARENT TO A CHILD (‘97), EVERYTHING WAITS TO BE NOTICED (’03), SOME ENCHANTED EVENING (’07) and THE SINGER (2012).

The late ‘80s brought two new challenges for GARFUNKEL: he published Still Water, a collection of poetry in ‘89, and began an amazing trek across America--on foot.  But the ‘80s and ‘90s found GARFUNKEL doing what he does best: singing for an audience.  “Taking on the fear and vulnerability of a live show keeps you vital,” says GARFUNKEL, who relishes the opportunity to perform new and classic material for fans around the world.  “I’m a singer trying to get away with a lucky job.  I try to soothe, to lift...That’s my life.”

GARFUNKEL earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Columbia College, majoring in Art History; later he earned his Masters degree in Architecture at Columbia University.  He lives in New York City with his wife Kim.  GARFUNKEL is an avid reader and has chronicled every book he’s read since June 1968 on his website–-1,210 in all.  Garfunkel's new book, "What Is It All But Luminous (Notes From An Underground Man)" will be released September 26 by Alfred A. Knopf.

Travis Tritt has incorporated lifelong influences in South Rock, blues and gospel into his country music. His 1990 debut album, "Country Club" and its succession of hits put him in the vanguard of the genre's boom in the early 1990s. His conspicuous lack of a cowboy hat and musical aggressiveness set him apart, and he sold more than 25 million albums, won a pair of Grammys, three CMA Awards, and a devoted fanbase.

You can hear her through your laughter as a regular panelist on NPR’s #1 show, a rascal of a weekly news quiz show, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me. Paula is recognized as one of Comedy Central's 100 greatest stand-ups of all time.  She won an American Comedy Award for Best Female Standup Comic, and in 2010 she was one of a select group voted into the Comedy Hall of Fame.

Keb' Mo'

Keb’ Mo’ is one of the most versatile and engaging musical raconteurs on today’s roots rock and blues scene. It all took off for Keb’ Mo’ in 1994 with the self-titled release under his newly coined “Keb’ Mo’” moniker, and he proved once and for all that he was a musical force to be reckoned with. Album after album, 11 in total, garnered him 3 Grammy Awards. As a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, producer, actor, mentor and consistently excellent performer, Keb’ Mo’ is a true American idol. There is a smooth cadence that transports you to a simpler time in life, when a concert audience was respectful and the artist could interact with fans in a positive, engaging way. Without even realizing it, you will find yourself humming along, dancing and laughing as the true “slice of life” vibe shines through and catches you in a spellbound moment of aural euphoria. Because, after all, “Life is Beautiful,” truly.
