Raleigh, Asheville stops on Shawn Colvin A Few Small Repairs 20th Anniversary Tour
This fall, singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin embarks on a seven-week national tour to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of her breakthrough album "A Few Small Repairs." The tour includes performances in Raleigh (November 13) and Asheville (November 14), with tickets for both shows going on sale Friday, June 2 at 10 a.m.
The tour will feature Colvin and a full band performing the album in its entirety alongside a variety of hits, personal favorites and surprises from her repertoire.
"A Few Small Repairs," was Colvin's breakthrough. The murder ballad "Sunny Came Home" gave Colvin a Top 10 hit, a platinum-selling album and two of Grammy's biggest honors: Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
In an era when female singer-songwriters are ever more ubiquitous, Colvin stands out as a singular and enduring talent. Her songs are slow-release works of craft and catharsis that become treasured, lifetime companions for their listeners. As a storyteller, Colvin is both keen and warmhearted, leavening even the toughest tales with tenderness, empathy, and a searing sense of humor.
Multi-instrumentalist-singer Larry Campbell and his wife singer-guitarist Teresa Williams will appear as support on the tour as well as appearing in the band.
