New shows at Stag's Head Music Hall include Justin Townes Earle, Willy Porter, Jacob Jolliff Band
Stag's Head Music Hall bring bluegrass supergroup The Jacob Jolliff Band, guitar-focused indie-folk singer Willy Porter, and Americana singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle to its intimate Glenwood Avenue venue in downtown Raleigh this spring.
Tickets for Jolliff and Porter go on sale Friday at noon. Tickets for Earle are on sale now. Get tickets at stagsheadmusichall.com or etix.com.
Jacob Jolliff Band is the next generation of bluegrass supergroups, led by Jolliff, a member of Yonder Mountain String Band and one of the country's premier contemporary bluegrass mandolinists. The ensemble features some of the most virtuosic and innovative young pickers in the country.
Willy Porter blurs the line between indie-folk and rock with his searing signature finger-picking guitar sound, absorbing lyrics, and playful, high-energy live performance style. He has shared world stages with music icons Jeff Beck, Tori Amos, and Paul Simon, carving out a successful solo career as an artist who makes music that resonates long after the last guitar chord fades.
Since launching his recording career a decade ago, Justin Townes Earle has established a reputation as a singular leading light in the Americana music community. With fearless, personally charged lyrical insight and infectious melodic craftsmanship, the young veteran singer-songwriter has built a rich, personally charged body of work.
